Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama

AGAIN …

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell has endorsed the presidential campaign of Barack Obama – for the second time – saying that the incumbent Democrat has ended the war in Iraq and kept America out of “new wars.”

“I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on,” Powell told CBS This Morning.

Powell,  a “Republican” who endorsed Obama in 2008, had previously declined to follow suit in 2012 – saying that he wasn’t sure if he would “throw (his) weight behind someone” this cycle.

It’s not clear what changed his mind … just as it’s not clear what (if any) value his endorsement will bring to an incredibly close race.

The former appointee of George W. Bush blistered GOP nominee Mitt Romney for his foreign policy views, which Powell described as a “moving target.”

“I’m not quite sure which Governor Romney we’d be getting with respect to foreign policy,” Powell said.

Hmmmm …

As noted in this post, we’re not wild about either Romney or Obama’s foreign policy views.

He has not taken us to Iran yet which Romney has almost promissed to. In that regard Obama is the lesser evil. Gary Johnson has my vote!

Unfortunately, Obama loves him some drone warfare, so lesser evil isn’t lesser enough.

Powell is still pissed that Darth Chaney and Bush the dumber made him a WMD stooge in front of the UN when he was pitching war with Iraq.

Thing is, supporting the Black Jesus will get him no where.

The duopoly paradigm yields stuff like this…only the most deluded can kid themselves into thinking that a choice for Tweedledee or Tweedledum means anything substantial.

About as meaningful as Mike Rowe’s endorsement of Romney…wait…actually,… on second thought, much less meaningful than Mike Rowe’s “celebrity” endorsement…

“Obama’s mom was white, dumb fuck.”

Does that mean we can start calling him the white President?

Actually, let me correct that, would it not be more accurate to call him the first mulatto President?

Wouldn’t that help bring the country together?

lol….I keeeeeedddd!

FITS and Powell are ALL LOT alike…

They try to get political credibility from being on the right, but take to their knees in worship in front of liberals…

Both are disgraceful and not convincing at all as Conservatives, too…

He may not have endorsed Romney, you know, the candidate you refused to endorse in the GOP primary and now make believe you support for president, but calling Colin Powell a disgrace shows what a piece of garbage you are.

You are a nothing. You don’t know what it means to be a man (or a human). Not everything is about politics. Wash your mouth out, little boy. Colin Powell has done a good bit more for his country than you.

The best you’ve done for our country is keep the fast food joints open and acne cream companies in business.

Romney’s brain-damaged surrogate, John Sununu, tries to change the subject from Romney’s continued support for “Dick” Mourdock:

“MORGAN: Final question, Colin Powell decided to opt for President Obama again, despite apparently still being a Republican. Is it time he left the party, do you think?

SUNUNU: I’m not sure how important that is. I do like the fact that Colin Powell’s boss, George Herbert Walker Bush, has endorsed Mitt Romney all along. And frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama?

MORGAN: What reason would that be?

SUNUNU: Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you are proud of being president of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.”

I guess that’s why Sununu is voting for Romney — he’s more comfortable voting for a white guy.

Smirks October 26, 2012 at 2:42 pm

The “Colin’s helping a brudda out” crap is expected, but Sununu really left that one too open. Pretty funny.

G.O.P. Split Over Whether to Emphasize Misogyny or Racism

NEW HAMPSHIRE (The Borowitz Report) — With less than two weeks to go until Election Day, there is a deep divide among Republican leaders over whether to emphasize misogyny or racism as the campaign’s closing theme.

In one camp is the Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock, who says that his view that God is sometimes O.K. with rape is “gaining real traction with a key demographic: men who don’t like women very much.”

“I can’t tell you how many misogynists have come up to me at my rallies and said, ‘Thank you for saying what you said,’” he told reporters today. “I think they’re like, finally, someone’s taking a more nuanced position on rape.”

But in the other camp is the former New Hampshire governor John Sununu, who worries that the Republican Party’s emphasis on misogyny is threatening to drown out its “winning message of racism.”

“I understand the appeal of Mourdock’s anti-woman theme, but I worry that it’s going to overshadow our core value of racism, which is still our best shot at winning this thing,” he said. “In politics, you’ve got to dance with the one who brung you.”

Hoping to heal a possible rift with so little time left until Election Day, the R.N.C. chairman Reince Priebus said today that there is room for both views in today’s Republican Party: “Our ‘big tent’ message to voters should be this: come for the misogyny, stay for the racism.”
